Hygiene Kits for Haiti

After an enormous response from the community, Color My World was able to package more than 2,000 hygiene kits for Haiti, helping over 8,000 people.

A complete hygiene kit supplies enough products for a family of four. Each hygiene kit includes two unbreakable combs, four toothbrushes, one tube of toothpaste, two bars of soap and two hand towels. Thank you to the area schools, Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, the various scout troops around the state, The Bedford Library and the hundreds of other anonymous donors throughout New England.

Boys and Girls Club of Salem is collecting hygiene kits for Haiti in conjunction with Color My World.

In the past decade, Color My World, a Bedford family foundation, has donated more than $25,000 in goods to families affected by the tsunami, Hurricane Katrina, earthquakes in China and Chile, and aid for Africa. Color My World has also distributed more than $20,000 locally to projects and families in need in New Hampshire.

This year they are teaming up with Boys & Girls Club of Salem and are shipping hygiene kits to help victims of the recent hurricane in Haiti. The club is accepting part or complete hygiene kits consisting of four toothbrushes, two bars of soap, two hand towels and one tube of toothpaste packed in a 1-gallon ziplock bag.

The organization is in major need of toothbrushes and toothpaste.

The project will run until Feb. 20. You can drop off the completed kits or supplies at the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, 3 Geremonty Drive, Salem, NH 03079. Call 898-7709 for details.

Color My World Foundation of Bedford is a nonprofit 501(c)3 tax-deductible organization operated by The Hughes family of Bedford.
